I was about to buy "Metal gear solid: the essential collection" in datablitz when they asked me if my ps2 was modified. I didn't know so I asked my siblings and they said that, yes, it was modified.
Then the salesclerk said that some original games won't work on modified ps2's. But I have an original copy of the first Splinter Cell game, and it worked.
Is it true that some orig games won't work? Because if it is, then sayang lang yung ps2 kasi xmas gift lang sa amin yun, eh ini-"implement" ko na yung anti-piracy kapag naglalaro ako, lol. |

May problema lang minsan sa pagload ang original games sa modified PS2. Usually iho-hold lang nang ilang seconds yung power button para maload yung game. |

^You mean Gran Turismo 4? It seemed to work ok but I guess it depends on the type of modchip.

aha you have a modchip sa ps2 ....
i think older ps2s with modchip are the ones that have a problem.... I knew this kasi i was @ db ng maraming nagrereklamo dati about it at dun nila nalaman na some games don't work well on modded consoles. Kaya ever since gt4 they asked if your console is modded or kung ano firmware ng psp mo and such
As I said, it's DB's way of saying if your console is modded and the disc does not work on it then it is not our fault... |

Original games work, just hold the power button when turning on the PS2 until the eject button lights up. If you fail to do that, then you'll get the dreaded red screen. |

modified din yung isang PS2 namin pero never ko na-encounter yung problem in playing orig games.. Ang problem pa nga is yung pirated games ang ayaw gumana minsan, kaya orig games lang ang nilalaro ko sa PS2, and like what cel-shaded said, i-hohold mo lang ng ilang seconds yung power button para gumana yung games.. |
